I started hillwalking and tying knots when I was in the Scouts over 25 years ago. I now regularly walk for pleasure in all parts of the UK, and have walked and trekked in many parts of the world. I have rock climbed in many parts of the UK, and have ice climbed in Scotland and the Alps.

I have a great interest in bushcraft, survival craft,  outdoor clothing and equipment, pocket knives  tools, and of course knot craft.

I’m also a practising martial artist (aikido 2nd dan, iaido 4th kyu).
